Chris's Fancy Hunter

I have a few projects I do for myself. This is going to be one of them.
I had an idea for a larger custom knife for me.
I have big paws so it is going to be a bit on the larger size.
80CRV2 is the choice this time.

Here we go!

So the first THREE heat treats failed. You can see the blade was not evenly heated. There were soft spots.  I retreated and now it actually cuts nails. I heated the oven to 425 and it rested in there for 5 hrs and then left to cool overnight, as the oven cooled.

The scale was really heavy.
Moving on to the handles this weekend.

This was a failed attempt to add a little design detail but I could not get it to stick and to conform correctly. Too many gaps.

The handles are very pretty but need something...
I will have to play around with it

She is finally done
